Our Mission Statement

	"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in thename of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; and teaching them toobey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

	The Mission of our church, indeed its very reason for being, is statedpowerfully in this brief passage from the New Testament. Our covenant then,developed by members of this church, goes on to clarify to what values,attitudes and behaviours we commit ourselves when we choose to be members of achurch with such a dynamic mission.

Our Covenant

We, the people of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, recognizing ourfailures as individuals and as a human community, affirm our call under theGrace of God the Creator, through Jesus Christ our redeemer and by the power ofthe Holy Spirit to Worship, Fellowship, Witness and Service.

As a congregation reflecting the ministry of Christ to a confused anduncertain world:

We COMMIT ourselves to praise and Glorify God through regularpublic worship, preaching, teaching and celebrating the sacraments.
We COMMIT ourselves to create a fellowship of love, mutual supportand trust, showing openness to and acceptance of all people through our actionsand attitudes. We affirm our willingness to give sacrificially of ourselves,joining together in our journey through life, with its pain and joy, doubt andfaith.
We COMMIT ourselves to confess our faith courageously in whatevercircumstances we find ourselves.
We COMMIT ourselves to search out God's purposes for us asindividuals and as a congregation through the discipline of study of theScriptures, and prayer so that we may carry the message of Christ's gospel tothe world not only in words, speaking out against injustice and persecution, butin action, loving and caring for others.
We acknowledge our place in Christ's universal church and affirmHis prayer "that they all may be one", and we will strive todemonstrate through our lives the only power we have - Christ's love.
