coming! The last batch

to Presbyterians Sharing, the right hand side of our church envelopes, we help support Saskatoon Native Circle Ministry as it
reaches out to, and advocates for, Aboriginal peoples of Saskatoon. This is not easy work, and can be
overwhelming. There is so much pain, so much desolation. But there is hope amidst all the
sadness. Serina,
a Parish Addictions Support Worker, has been hired for a one-year term. She is counselling individuals and young couples, and her work in the
community has brought people to the ministry’s worship circle. As we give to Presbyterians Sharing let us
pray for those who are marginalized, and those suffering from addiction and
poverty. Give thanks for Rev. Stewart Folster and for Saskatoon Native Circle Ministry as they
work to make a difference in the lives of those who have little to hope for. Sunday School

Smile-The Light
of The World A little boy forgot his lines in a Sunday
school presentation. His mother was in the front row to prompt him. She
gestured and formed the words silently with her lips, but it did not help. Her
son's memory was blank. Finally, she leaned forward and whispered the cue,
"I am the light of the world." The child beamed and with great
feeling and a loud clear voice said, "My mother is the light of the
world." TODAY'S BIBLE QUIZ 1. In his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul
wrote that he intended to stay in what city until Pentecost? 2. How
many days after Easter is Pentecost? 3. What
happened at Pentecost? Answers on the whiteboard in the Book
Corner and on the website. A BOOK REVIEW by Penny Cressman Many of you have heard Stephen Lewis speak. So
you know he is a compelling speaker; articulate, passionate and forthright. His
book "A RACE AGAINST TIME" reads as if he is standing before you
again. The book, written in 2005, is a
transcript of five lectures he gave as a Massey Lecture Series in Toronto.
Lewis is determined to bear witness to the desperate plight of so many in
Africa and to give us his often searing perspective on our ongoing failure to help.I found it a sad encounter, but I was enchanted to
meet the champion. Weekly Calendar May 12-17 Monday 7:00 p.m. The WMS Presbyterial

assist in the evacuation of the nursery and the church school area above Iona
Hall. Do not use the elevator. Do not congregate in the parking areas or try to

to bring. Make sure you pick up the driving schedule from Courtney today
before you leave! NOTES FROM JANICE Today we are delighted to have the Masters Rotation
Classes, the Communicants class and the Youth Group joining us for worship. On
this Pentecost Sunday we celebrate the birth of the Church, when all the
followers of Jesus were given gifts by the Holy Spirit to share in the
community. We also celebrate the gift of our mothers and the love and
dedication with which they serve their families. It is from our mothers that we
first learned how to love and serve one another. It is from our mothers in
faith that we extend our love and service to our family of faith and our
community. To all of our Mothers and Mothers in Faith we say thank you. Have a beautiful day. Notes
from Mark Donna and I are away this weekend in order to
celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.will
be back in the office on Monday morning. I am very thankful to Janice for her willingness to conduct both services today and thereby allow Donna and I to enjoy this weekend together. e-mail: standrewskw@ sympatico.ca Our Fax Number is: 519-578-6730
