Outreach Programs - Outreach is the expression of our faith to our community and beyond.

dotCOMMUNITY USE OF BUILDING
No cost use of building for 40 community groups on a weekly, monthly or annualbasis.

dotNEW YEAR'S DAY DINNER
Provide a festive meal at St. Andrew's for street people when the Soup Kitchen isclosed.

dotVICTORIA DAY BBQ
Provides a relaxed outdoor meal for the downtown people when the Soup Kitchen isclosed.

dotTHRIFT SHOP
Previously used clothing is sold at minimal cost. Open Wednesday to Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

dotSTEWART AWARD FOR TEACHER EXCELLENCE
Recognition of excellence in the field of Education within Waterloo County at the Secondary School level. Two awards presented annually.

dotSOLO PROGRAM
Provides the facility and support to the Youth in Transition program of Family and Children Services.

dotHOUSE OF FRIENDSHIP
Care and Share program - Food hamper project. Preparation and serving of Weekend Meals, and the Annual Potato Blitz in the month of February.

dotSOUP KITCHEN
We provide turkeys and hams for special seasonal dinners at Easter, Thanksgiving,and Christmas.

dotMARY'S PLACE
We support the work of Mary's Place through our Local Outreach Committee, various fundraising initiatives and representation on Mary's Place Faith Community Committee.

dotCOMMUNITY CARE PROGRAMS
Assistance for people in need.

dotFINANCIAL ASSISTANCE to:

dotT.V. MINISTRY
Broadcasting Sunday morning worship to all of Southern Ontario and several border US States on the first and third Sundays of each month.

dotPRESBYTERIAN SHARING
Contributing through our weekly givings to the projects of the National Church throughout the world.

dotCORN SHARE
Providing financial support to buy seeds for planting. The crop is then sold andmoney is matched at a ratio of 4:1 for world hunger.

dotFRANCISCO COLL SCHOOL
Raising funds through special events to pay the annual salary of theteacher working in a school located in Guatemala City.

dotGUATEMALA PROJECT
A hands-on project has been undertaken by adults and youth of the congregation. Itinvolves travelling to Guatemala and working on a specific bulding project.
Church School Children have raised money to purchase goats to provide milk for severalfamilies in Guatemala.

Pastoral Care - provides a caring ministry to the congregation.

dotCRIB CONNECTION
Families of newly baptized babies are visited on significant occasions up to thechild's second birthday.

dotELDERS
Regular quarterly visits by elders offer an opportunity to build a relationshipwith the members of the congregation, answer questions, and discussing concerns.

dotFUNERAL FOLLOW-UP
Families receive support immediately following the funeral of a family member.

dotGRIEF SUPPORT GROUP
Six week sessions are offered several times throughout the year to those who havebeen bereaved more than three months previously.

dotHOSPITAL VISITING
Trained visitors augment the work of the Minister of Pastoral Care by visiting withhospital patients.

dotPRAYER CHAIN
Requests for special prayers are given to a committed group of people who regularlypray in response to these requests.

dotSTEPHEN MINISTRY
Lay people who have participated in 50 hours of training and are equippedto meet the needs of individuals who are experiencing crisis in their lives.

dotVISITORS IN THE PARISH (VIP)
Lay people commit to a one on one relationship with home bound members of the congregation.

Opportunities For Ministry

St. Andrew's ability to provide the varied programs and Opportunities inMinistry depends largely on the involvement of the Laity in leadership roles.

All members are encouraged to become involved in the ministries of thiscongregation to the extent that they are able, using their various gifts and skills insatisfying ways. Building relationships through participation can enhance your senseof belonging and make membership within this congregation a meaningful experience.

Additional possibilities for involvement may include:

dotBOARD OF MANAGERS
These individuals are responsible for the financial aspects of the church as wellas the care and maintenance of the church property.

dotBOWLING
Each Wednesday evening, the men of the congregation bowl as part of a league.

dotCAMP KUMMONIWANNAGO
Daily volunteers for the summer camp assist in the functioning of this daycamp. The Camp Committee works with the camp director to oversee theadministration of the camp.

dotCOFFEE HOUR COORDINATOR/HOSTS
Two couples are scheduled each week to prepare the coffee served between thetwo morning services.

dotDINNERS
Preparing dinners for special events provides an opportunity to work with others on a one time event.

dot40+ Singles Group
All single people are invited to be a part of this social group. Activities are announced in the weekly bulletin.

dotLIBRARY ASSISTANTS
Involvement in this ministry includes assisting with book selection on Sundaymornings as well as the cataloguing of new books.

dotOFFICE VOLUNTEERS
A variety of office tasks provide an opportunity to keep the office runningsmoothly.

dotSOUND SYSTEM OPERATORS
Operators are trained and scheduled for each Sunday morning service.

dotTEACHING
Training is provided for those involved in all aspects of education.

dotUSHERS AND GREETERS
Participants are commited to a schedule that suits their availability.

dotSPECIAL EVENTS
Planning and coordinating of one-time events draws on the skills of manypeople.

dotWOMEN'S ASSOCIATION
In addition to providing a social contact, this group takes on theresponsibility of funeral receptions, lunches for the Noon Hour Recitals, and theChristmas Bazaar.

dotKNITTING FOR ADOPTED BABIES
Sweaters and bonnets are needed for newborns going to their adoptivehomes.

dotWEB SITE UPDATING
Assist with keeping the web site information current.
