Hello, my name is Courtney Gooding and I have been hired as the new director for Camp Kummoniwannago which I am incredibly excited about! I have obtained my diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services from Conestoga College and am currently finishing up my degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies at Brock University. Working with children and youth is something that I have always loved doing, even as a child I knew this was the path I wanted to take in life. That is why I was so excited when I was hired by Camp K as a counsellor in the summer of 2002. I spent the next three summers in that position gaining plenty of knowledge, hands on experience and the opportunity to work with the most amazing people. After a few summers, I worked my way up to the Critter Program Co-ordinator and have now spent the past two summers as Critter Assistant Director. Both of these positions, along with my schooling have helped me to gain a better understanding of what goes on behind the scenes and just how much work it actually takes to run a day camp.

In addition to my experience with Camp K, I also have had plenty with the YMCA. I have worked with the A.R. Kaufman Family YMCA for the past six years as a volunteer and staff. With the Y I have done youth, teen and leadership development programs, After School Antics, child care, special events and membership services. For the past two years, I have also been working with the YMCA's of Niagara in various programs and have had the opportunity to attend many leadership conferences and workshops. As I said, I am very excited for the upcoming summer and look forward to working with the congregation to provide another fantastic summer to the campers of Camp Kummoniwannago!
