In the same manner as last year, those who enter the Passport must complete four modules:

  1. 75% attendance at scheduled Sunday morning youth classes.
  2. Participate in five fellowship projects within the church.
  3. Participate in four service projects within the church.
  4. Attend a full session of Catechism classes (time to be announced)

Youth Serving in the Church

Heather Ingram-Smith has been smoothing the way for many opportunities for youth to be involved in the many ministries at St. Andrew's. Youth are infiltrating the church, leading Workshop Rotation classes, maintaining and designing our website, reading scripture, and serving at special events. Youth, if you hear about something at our church you would like to be involved in, talk to Cordelia or Heather and we can help you get plugged in!

Youth Council

We are excited to announce the start of our new youth council! Leadership of youth by youth! A small group of youth will be meeting once a month to plan and organize our upcoming youth events and brainstorm new activities. This group will also be working on putting together a vision of our perfect youth leader for the new school year.
Congratulations to our newly elected Youth Council Leader, Mike Blair. In their first meeting the Youth council decided that the youth should vote in their new leader and we have been collecting votes since then.

New Leader

It is time to say goodbye and thank you to Cordelia Sturtevant for the leadership that she provided for the last four months. Her insightful teaching and inspirational example are appreciated by everyone she touched. We wish her God's blessing as she goes to Camp Crossroads for her summer employment.

Courtney Gooding and Lauren Blair will be our new Youth Leaders. Courtney is currently enrolled at Brock University in Recreation and Leisure Studies. She works part time at the YMCA and will also be returning for her second summer as Critter Assistant Director with Camp Kummoniwannago. She has been helping with the St. Andrew's youth group over the past couple of years and is very excited to be working with them once again. Lauren and Courtney will be working very hard to plan a variety of Bible and faith studies for the coming months and look forward to helping the youth continue to strengthen their relationship with God and each other. In order to do so they will continue to offer the regular Friday night programs as well as special events, including the Overflow youth conference in the month of May.

The Sportsmen

Four wonderful men have taken on the role of 'Sportsmen' for our Friday nights. Dean Fergusson, Rob Johnston, Doug Blair, and Ron Watson will be taking turns leading the sports part of sports break. With so many volunteers our Friday sports breaks are going to be a blast! Say thank you to these guys when you see them!

Youth Information Sheets

I am trying to get together a comprehensive collection of youth contact information, allergies, parent information, and so on, in hopes of making both me and future youth leaders more effective. If you have not yet filled out one of these sheets I will have them with me Sundays and Fridays. It would really help to get this information all collected, so please try to get these forms filled out and returned ASAP.
